About Baseball Nostalgia 1869
Baseball Nostalgia 1869 started out as Jack's on Mic in the summer of 2019, but in March 2020 during the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic changed the direction to discuss the history of baseball. The 1869 in the name pays homage to the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings who were the first professional baseball team. Baseball Nostalgia 1869 offers an experience of America's pastime from 1869 to the present through a blog, podcast, and Instagram all being converged together to give the user the full experience. This platform revolves heavily on statistics and sophisticated graphs to help illustrate a point to the reader, listener, or social media user. The goal of this multi-media platform is to connect individuals through the game of baseball and make new fans along the way.
About Jack Butler
A senior at Mercyhurst University studying Communication and Marketing whose passion for baseball led to starting Baseball Nostalgia 1869 in 2020. He plays D2 American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Club hockey, is part of the Active Minds and Social Work Clubs on campus, and works with the Mercyhurst Athletic department calling games or doing public address announcing. You'll see him at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario all summer long with a scorecard on his lap and pencil in hand, so say hello as he'll be happy to talk baseball with you!
